Strategic nutritional guidance inspires and empowers our athletes to choose nourishing foods to fuel their body to win championships in their sport and in life. Our nutrition program provides a blueprint for healthy living habits during their time as student-athletes and beyond.
OU Athletics dedicates additional resources to ensure student-athletes are receiving every opportunity to succeed through proper nutrition and fueling. Staff members who are licensed dietitians assess needs and create nutrition programming and screening as well as develop proactive nutrition practices. OU Athletics utilizes technology and science to help provide a strategic and tailored plan for each student-athlete’s optimum wellness. This includes using Bod Pod, a highly accurate tracking system which measures body fat and lean body mass. In addition, DEXA scanning is also used which is a dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scan that determines bone density.
