To keep you updated on the current state of OU Athletics, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletic Programs, Joe Castiglione visited this week with Sooner Sports Network’s Chad McKee. The discussion covered a variety of topics and, as a valued stakeholder, we hope you’ll watch and listen.
Our Commitment
We are hopeful that our 2020 football season will occur as scheduled. However, if the number of games are reduced, we will act in good faith by providing options for you to redistribute payments earmarked toward priority seating donations and season tickets. The anticipated options include:
1) Reallocate your donation and ticket payment as tax-deductible gifts for OU Athletics' for emergent needs
2) Transfer any eligible donations and ticket payments to the 2021 season/Sooner Club membership year
3) Request a refund as an exception to our refund policy
With increased safety and convenience in mind, the University of Oklahoma Athletics Department announced last Wednesday we will fully transition to digital ticketing at all of our venues, as well as for football parking.
Although ticket buyers will no longer have the option to print their tickets at home, the new digital system will provide quick and safe ticket delivery of season, mini-plan and single-game tickets and football parking passes via smartphones and the SoonerSports2Go app. |
Additional Ticket Information
- Away game and Red River Showdown invoices will be sent via email in June.
- The annual Sooner Seat Upgrade Process will take place later this summer.
- More information will be sent via email.
As it has been well-documented throughout the country, our athletics department resources rely heavily on football to supplement other sports programs and provide financial aid to nearly 600 student-athletes; however, the financial impact on OU Athletics doesn’t outweigh the relationships and people tied to our historic success. Should we encounter an outcome altering the number of games for the 2020 football season, we hope you consider earmarking your gift toward OU Athletics' greatest emergent needs so we can provide the necessary resources for our student-athletes. As we’ve seen before, no event - or in this case, pandemic - will alter our shared vision to make the University of Oklahoma the premier destination for the future. One we look forward to experiencing with you for many years to come.
