The University of Oklahoma and the OU Athletics department is excited to welcome fans back to Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium for the 2020 football season.
We continue to work carefully with the top experts in the state, across campus and at the OU Medical Center to ensure we are making decisions that are in the best interest of our student-athletes, stakeholders and university. While much discussion is still taking place, we have prepared various plans to accommodate reduced seating capacity at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. As of today, we anticipate the seating capacity of the stadium to be approximately 25%.
It is our top priority to provide you the best gameday experience in the safest environment possible. Below is information on ways we are preparing for you to be back with us at the Palace on the Prairie.
Ticket buyers will receive links via the SoonerSports2Go app or text message, allowing them to download tickets to their Apple Wallet (iPhone) or to Google Pay (Android). Just prior to reaching the venue gates, fans simply pull up the tickets with QR codes on their smartphone screen to show the gate attendant for scanning. The new digital system will provide quick and safe ticket delivery of season tickets and football parking passes via smartphones and the SoonerSports2Go app.
All stadium gates will now open 2.5 hours prior to kickoff for those who need extra time. To enhance the safety of all fans, contactless ticket scanning will allow for quicker, safer and easier entry to the stadium. Fans are encouraged to enter gates at or near their seating locations for 2020.
The clear bag policy still applies, as well as enhanced screening protocols. Additional express lanes will be added for fans who are not bringing bags into the game. Click here for more information.
The outer concourse should be utilized as a walking path while the inner concourse services concessions, restrooms and seat entry. Elevators will service limited capacity per ride with larger groups at the game together being accommodated.
In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Oklahoma has announced that tailgating is prohibited on OU campus grounds and parking areas for the 2020 football season. Game day tailgating events and gatherings that are canceled this year include: All Public Tailgating, Sooner Club Tailgate, Tailgate Guys, Varsity O Tailgate and the Walk of Champions.
